Lynn Canyon Park and Suspension Bridge – North Vancouver

Lynn Canyon Park and Suspension Bridge in Lynn Valley is one of the most popular parks in North Vancouver. The lush nature and waterfall filled park is the ideal location to enjoy some fresh air, take a hike, cool off during those hot summer days and enjoy some quality time with the whole family.

There are many trails that wander through the park and connect to more which allows you to decide how far you go. Very close to the parking lot you arrive to the edge of the canyon and traverse over the scenic 48m long Lynn Canyon Suspension Bridge hanging 50m above with spectacular views of numerous waterfalls.

At about 35 minutes from downtown Vancouver, Lynn Canyon has become a very popular location for hiking, picnicking and swimming. Parking is limited within the park and fills up very fast during the summer months.

The trail starts with a suspension bridge hanging 150 m above Lynn Creek.

There are many alternate hikes in Lynn Valley, many other casual hikes such as Rice Lake, Norvan Fall, Lynn Peak and other challenging hikes such as Lynn Lake, Coliseum Mountain, Crown Mountain and more.



Trailhead / Parking for Lynn Canyon Park

  ESTIMATED DRIVING TIME FROM VANCOUVER: 35 MINUTES

The trailhead / parking lot for Lynn Canyon. To reach Lynn Canyon from outside of North Vancouver, take the fourth exit after Second Narrows bridge (Exit #21) onto Mountain Highway. Head north towards Lynn Valley for 2.4 km and take a right onto Lynn Valley Road. If you are coming from Lions Gate Bridge, follow the signs to the Trans-Canada Hwy/BC-1 heading East and continue until the exit 19 for Lynn Valley Road. Once on Lynn Valley Road continue North-East until Peters Road. Take a right here and continue to the end of Peters Road where you will reach the parking area for the park.

  TRANSIT ACCESS TO LYNN CANYON

From downtown Vancouver, take the Seabus across to North Vancouver. At the Lonsdale Quay bus loop, take bus #238 to Lynn Valley.

Dogs must be leashed on the trails north of Twin Falls Bridge, which includes the whole Suspension Bridge area and 30 foot pool. Dogs may be off-leash but under control on trails south of Twin Falls Bridge. Please scoop all dog poop and dispose in appropriate trash cans.

Lynn Creek is a popular swimming location amongst visitors and locals. Swimming should only be performed at your own risk in specific locations such as the 30 foot pool during summer months.

There are picnic tables in front of the Lynn Cafe Cafe before arriving to the suspension bridge, as well as a picnic area behind the Cafe building including some roof covered picnic tables.

There is a drinking water fountain located on the west side of the Lynn Canyon Cafe building next to the washrooms.

The Lynn Canyon Cafe, open Wednesday to Sunday, is located across the street from the suspension bridge and offers casual food and drink options.

There are public washrooms complete with baby change tables on the west side of the Lynn Canyon Cafe building.

Car parking in the park is free. Please take note of the park hours upon entry and keep in mind that during the summer months the parking lots fill up quickly. Allow plenty of time to find a spot or consider taking alternate transportation to the park. The Lynn Canyon Park Gates are opened at 7 am and close at 9 pm in the summer, opened at 7 am and closed at 6 pm during the winter, and opened at 7 am and close at 7 pm in the spring and fall.

  WHEELCHAIR FRIENDLY IN LYNN CANYON PARK: YES

The Lynn Canyon Ecology Centre, the Lynn Canyon Cafe, the public washrooms, and the picnic area are all wheelchair accessible. The suspension bridge and park trails are not wheelchair or stroller friendly.
