The Stawamus Chief Hike, also known as “The Chief”, in Squamish, British Columbia, part of The Stawamus Chief Provincial Park.

At about 1 hour from downtown Vancouver, The Stawamus Chief is a popular weekend hiking location for Vancouverites. Parking is provided and free of charge at The Stawamus Chief Provincial Park, but despite the abundance of parking between the main parking lot and the overflow, this popular location can fill up fast, therefor we recommend an early arrival on optimal days. Beware of the "No Parking" signs within the lots as cars parked illegally will be subject to towing at the owner’s expense.

There are both drive-in and walk-in campsites available at The Stawamus Chief located near the parking lot. 16 drive-in and 58 walk-in sites to be exact. Main camping season between April 13, 2019 – Oct. 15, 2019 will be subject to a camping fee and will provide campsite services. Where as winter and off-season camping the visitors must find appropriate parking elsewhere and walk in to the campsites, there will be no fees and no services.
