Cypress Mountain Viewpoint located on the second switchback of Cypress Bowl Road in West Vancouver is one of the best and most accessible places in Vancouver for panoramic views of the Lower Mainland. On a clear day, you can see across the Georgia Straight to Vancouver Island and southeast to Mount Baker in Washington State.

This popular location amongst Vancouver locals is ideal to watch the sunrise or sunset and capture beautiful images of Vancouver City. This spot is a photographer's favourite, and the best vantage points go quickly during optimal conditions. Plan to arrive early for the best spot to set up your tripod as photographers from all over the world come here for this stunning view. The parking is not very big, but there is a gravel area across the street for overflow parking. The Cypress Mountain Viewpoint is equipped with toilets and picnic tables so you can spend hours up here admiring the view.




Parking for Cypress Mountain Viewpoint

  ESTIMATED DRIVING TIME FROM VANCOUVER: 20-30 MINUTES

The Cypress Mountain Viewpoint is a 30-minute drive from downtown Vancouver. From Hwy 1 in West Vancouver, take exit 8 for Cypress Bowl Road towards the ski area. Follow the road up the mountain for approximately 10km. The viewpoint will be on your right.

You may bring your dog on-leash as the Viewpoint area is small and located next to the main road.

There are 6 picnic table along the grass patch of the Viewpoint area offering scenic views of the Greater Vancouver area as you enjoy your food.

There are 2 public pit toilets located at the far east side of the Cypress viewpoint. Continue walking past the view and follow the gravel path leading right to a little structure.
