Long Beach – Tofino – Vancouver Island

Long Beach in Tofino is the longest beach of the Pacific Rim National Park Preserve, spanning an extraordinary 16 km (10 mi) along the west coast of Vancouver Island. Described by locals to be magical, you will be fascinated by the amount of sea life that call the tidal pools home. You can expect to find crabs, shells, starfish, sea urchins and much more.

As the waves comes crashing in along the shoreline, you will find surfers from around the world carving and tumbling through the waves. As the water settles, it gracefully rides up the beach with peaceful trickles in which you can dip your feet while walking along the beach. This thin layer of water is also ideal for skimboarding. Long Beach is truly a rejunivating getaway for all ages. Whether you're looking to kickback, explore, adventure, hike, surf, or just take one of those long walks on the beach, Long Beach has it all.

A perfect surfing location for beginner level to experienced surfers. Also great location for stand up paddle board surfing and skimboarding.

The 16 km long stretch of beach offers an amplitude of swimming room. Be mindful of surfers in the area.

The beach is perfect for the whole family. There are logs along to beach to sit on, plenty of sand for the kids to play in, the water remains shallow until quite far and beautiful waves to surf.

Dogs are allowed in the area but must remain on-leash at all times.

  Picnic Area

Picnic tables are located down the trail adjacent to the washrooms.

  Drinking Water

There is a drinking water dispenser located on the side of the washroom structure.

  Entry Fee

All beaches in the Pacific Rim National Park Reserve requires a Parks Canada Pass.

  Parking Available

Paid parking is available with easy access to the beach. It is a 1.4 km road-trip walk to Siwash Rock from there.

  Toilets Available

Toilets are located in the parking area. There are also changing rooms in the same building.
